\"Transceiver<\/a>From June 2 to June 3, 2018, the Russian Radio Championship took place on VHF 2018. I hardly prepared for it. He put the Yaesu FT-817ND transceiver in an army bag and drove to the village. The vehicle is a motorcycle. Half the way there was heavy rain. I had to get wet a little. Part of the road passed through swamps and mud fields. Safely reached the house, heated the stove in the house and bath. The power supply and the YU7EF antenna were already in place. The output power from my side was only 5 W (QRP). I connected the transceiver, conducted the first radio communication. The equipment was tested, it was possible to start the competition. During 2 hours I had 8 connections. The longest communication (ODX) is 325 km.
\nThis was the first departure from the Yaesu FT-817ND to the competition. The transceiver is very compact, lightweight. With it is much more convenient in the campaign than with Yaesu FT-897.
